MP3 downloads to surpass CD sales soon
Stop and think: when was the last time you went out in the car, traveled into town, found a car parking space, walked through the rain and went into a CD shop? When you where there, did they have the CD you were looking for? If your last CD shopping experience was an unpleasant one then it’s likely that you’ll be joining (or will already have joined) the millions of people who download MP3s online.
Music downloads are becoming increasingly popular – so much so that the number of mp3 downloads will surpass the number of CD sales by 2012 – and it is really quite easy to see why.
The music industry is not taking this explosion in MP3 downloads very well at all which is not all that surprising. Still the industry will just have to move with the times if it wants to stay in the game: the adventurous (and likely successful) businesses will be those that see this as a challenge and an opportunity rather than as a disaster.
