Other version improve on Ares Galaxy

Things change very quickly in the digital world. Where one piece of software, one concept, one website or one piece of technology is considered the leader of the pack, it may only be a matter of months before it is toppled from its pedestal.

So it is the Ares Galaxy P2P filesharing software which was long considered the best – and only real alternative – in the Ares family. Imitators were all trying to have a piece of the Ares Galaxy pie, but none really came anywhere near close.

Recently though a number of real contenders have come up through the pack, bubbling to the top. Title like Ares Vista, Ares Ultra and Ares Ultimate that have designers able to notice both the good and bad things about Ares Galaxy and incorporate (or defend against) these in their implementations. Consequently these newer releases are simply better than the old stalwart Ares Galaxy.

Like when Ares Galaxy was first released there are still Ares versions that are not a patch on the best in class. These are the true imitators, and are fairly bad at it. Software like Ares Destiny and Ares Gold don’t warrant further discussion in this article.

It’s a shame to see the ‘old master’ toppled by these new upstarts, but this, my dear reader, is the price of progress
