Growing Popularity of Salvia With Teenagers

The hallucinogenic drug of choice for many teenagers and college students is Salvia. Why Salvia? Because it is, for the most part, entirely legal; it is also freely available over the Internet and, in some specialized locations, simply over the counter.

The plant leaves were chewed by natives and have a mild and short-lived effect. More potent – and more popular – is the concentrated form of Salvia which is 10 or 15 times stronger.

But the naturally occurring hallucinogenic may not enjoy its legal status much longer; certainly not if law makers such as Assemblyman Anthony Adams have their way: Adams has introduced a bill that is currently going through the California State Senate which could see the sale of Salvia to people under the age of 18 restricted. The penalties for breaking this new law could include up to 6 months’ jail time or $1000 in fines. Get it while you can!
