Banning Salvia?
Salvia is, according to one commentator, a “minor drug in the world of psychedelics”. It is neither a “party drug” nor does it taste very nice. You’d think that it wasn’t very popular, then?
Not so, as a study of 1,500 students at San Diego State University showed. The survey found that 4 percent of participants had used Salvia in the previous year. Salvia, purportedly more potent that Marijuana and with similar effects to those experienced by users of LSD and PCP, is now being hunted down by politicians, legislators, lobby groups and campaigners. It is notable that there have been no known deaths that resulted from Salvia nor is its hour long duration particularly damaging.
Proposed bills, notably in Florida, would see Salvia placed in the same group as Marijuana and LSD.
In the meantime Salvia is very much alive and kicking, and is available widely on the Internet.
